I have once again produced a compact version of the book that tells you the correct precinct for all the streets at your polling place, so you can point people at the correct check-in table. Instead of flipping through many pages, all the same information is on just 2! For example, below shows the polling place where I work.

Let me explain what happens when you do a joke write-in vote.
I'm talking about Boston MA, but to my knowledge the process isn't dramatically different elsewhere.
Your ballot gets diverted by the scanner into a separate compartment in the ballot box. It makes a different sound which we poll-workers immediately recognize, and believe me, if there is no viable write-in candidate in any race in that election running, we absolutely judge you at that moment.

As a #pollWorker I want to make two comments on this article about people voting twice in Michigan:
1) The reporter made a significant error in this article that the editor (if there was one) didn't catch: "...the assistant clerks were instructed to issue the would-be voters a second ballot and to override the warning." That should say "election workers", not "assistant clerks."

#today I rode my #motorcycle downtown to attend Warden/Clerk #pollworker training at #Boston City Hall for the upcoming state primary on September 3 (hopefully won't have to repeat training before the pres. election, but we'll see).
