Köln: Hunderte protestieren für Verkehrswende statt Tunnelbau

Erneut wurde heute anlässlich der Stadtratssitzung gegen Pläne mehrerer Parteien zum Bau eines riesigen U-Bahn-Tunnels quer durch die Kölner Innenstadt von Deutz bis zum Militärring demonstriert.

Der Bau dieses von der #Verkehrslobby entwickelte Metrolinien-Netz würde nicht nur eine jahrzehntelange #Großbaustelle verursachen, sondern dabei auch klimaschädliche #Emissionen verursachen. Gleichzeitig würden dringend benötigte Ausbauten des Bahnangebots der #KVB eingespart und dauerhaft verhindert.

Wegen der anhaltenten Kritik, sowie aufgrund interner Streitigkeiten und fraglicher Fördergelder wurde die für den 13.02. angesetzte Ratsentscheidung nun auf Anfang April vertagt.

Der ökologisch-soziale Widerstand für eine menschen- und umweltgerechte #Verkehrswende und für kostenlosen #Nahverkehr geht jedoch weiter!

Statt doppelt und dreifach an Pankows #Infrastruktur zu meißeln, baut Berlin jetzt #abgestuft und nacheinander: Der neue Zeitplan für #Abriss und #Neuerrichtung der #Schönhauser-Allee-Brücke, wie ihn der Senat nun bekanntgegeben hat, entschärft eine angespannte Lage. Statt schon im neuen Jahr zu starten, erfolgt die erste #Hauptbauphase erst 2027. In vier Stufen lässt der Senat dann bis 2032 die #Straßenkonstruktion über dem Graben der #Ringbahn ersetzen – erst in Fahrtrichtung Süden in Richtung Alexanderplatz, dann Richtung Norden. Und das gröbste #Verkehrschaos, das durch den doppelten Baubeginn an der Brücke und dem benachbarten #Stadion im #Friedrich-Ludwig-Sportpark ab 2025 gedroht hätte, es wird nicht so eintreten, wie man es befürchten musste.

Diese #Großbaustelle der Deutschen Bahn kostet Berlinern mindestens vier Jahre Nerven – und bringt der Hauptstadt mehr als nur eine 46 Millionen Euro teure Basis zur Versorgung von #ICE-Zügen. Im Großvorhaben „#Boxenstopp“ #Schönholz ist auch der Aufbau einer #zweigleisigen #Verbindung in einem #Nadelöhr geplant, das sich im Bereich des S-Bahnhofs #Wollankstraße befindet.
