To be honest: I absolutely despise doing backups.
No negligence goes unpunished:
My Samsung SSD with root and home directory just gave up, after less than 3 years.
So folks, don't be like me: Do your backups! Always!

Habe jahrelang keine Backups gemacht, doch seit ich den Spruch "Kein Backup, keine Gnade" kenne, mache ich es wenigstens mal ab und an. Zumal mein Rechner gefühlt vor dem Exitus steht.
@mina Sehr gut! Und zwar genau jetzt! Ich starte jetzt mein Backup, bevor ich heute was Anderes mache (1/2 Jahr neue Daten)!

Which is why I automated it long long ago to run at days end with auto shutdown.

Ugh, I should really start to be more active in that religion.
I bought all the relics. I even went as far as setting it up so I can do it over wifi, but then it shut down and I can't be arsed to fix it. For over 2 years now.

If it's any help for next time, I have / on a small SSD and /home on a big HDD. Then /home/Phil is synced with a Nextcloud server in my shed.
