Zwei spannende Tage beim Hands-on Workshop "#Wikidata für die Jüdischen Studien" an der #adwmainz gehen zu Ende. Wir haben gelacht, wir haben gestaunt (u.a. über einen selbst spielenden Flügel), wir haben diskutiert und wir haben viel gelernt. Und wir freuen uns auf eine Fortsetzung der Gespräche und gemeinsam angedachten Projekte. Danke an den FID @JuedStudien und alle Teilnehmer:innen!
Datenkuratierung in Wikidata – wer die Hürde der 50 Bearbeitungen überwunden hat, kann hier aktiv einsteigen. Wie das in der Praxis funktioniert, erarbeiten sich die Teilnehmerinnen in unserem Workshop.

I’ve finally managed to build an in-browser #JavaScript tool that pulls #Wikidata elements, explores their relationships through a chosen property (such as cites, inspired by, student of, etc.), and visualizes the resulting network on a timeline!

@umblaetterer @NanetteRissler I am one of the people behind this #Wikidata-based #ToolRegistry, which we argue addresses some of the major shortcomings of other approaches, famously coined the "Directory paradox" by @quinnanya . An article in which we lay out our argument and the design decisions will be forthcoming with DHQ (The preprint is available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15094816).
And, rest assured, many Wikidata entries link to Open SSH Marketplace, Tapor and others.
