*Every window* in #Asian restaurant in #Lowestoft put through by "one angry man" - £20 000 damage and business potentially closed for 4 months.

First time I'm aware of any incident this serious against a single business (in contrast to casual breaking of windows) in the near 20 years I've lived in #Suffolk / East Anglia

Maybe its less of a risk here in #Ipswich due to the towns layout and greater presence of #CCTV - whoever does such things is nicked fairly soon and/or observed by witnesses (which could include the staff of the many Asian grocery stores which open late)

#Police are investigating the incident (not sure how much CCTV Lowestoft has or if its effective, haven't been there for about 10 years)

A late night drive last night/early this morning to test a #navi app also showed up the effect of the current and previous Governments on #Britain (or at least #Ipswich #Suffolk) - not only did I have the #A14 almost to myself (not even lorries), even the urban / suburban streets were dead.

10-30 years ago the same streets and even car parks would have been buzzing with young people getting to the next party or just hanging out but whole area was 100% dead.

OK it meant I didn't have to worry about jaywalkers or other drivers who weren't 100% sober, but it felt like puritans are rubbing their hands in glee knowing they have finally succeeded in getting everyone home and into bed before midnight just like it was before about 1988/9....

Went to #Suffolk today, as had to go there to pick up an EV courtesy car, while ours is in garage.

People think #Norfolk and Suffolk are much the same if they don’t live in either…but I swear Suffolk has done something to space time continuum.

The slower pace of everything there I usually enjoy…but I was up against their parking machines that were lots of cash or an app and there was no signal today, so limited time but so many lovely things to see…grrrr!

Wonder how George #Orwell reacted?

A #cyclist in #Suffolk was knocked down and badly injured by the #driver of an unusual #vintage #car - the driver did not stop and #Police are searching for more info.

What is particularly worrying is that someone who has the interest and resources to drive an #oldtimer feels entitled to commit a hit and run incident (maybe hoping they will get away with it due to lack of #CCTV in #rural areas) - rather than do the right thing and call 999 straight away, and they are likely to be in late middle age (most young drivers aren't particularly interested in vintage cars). It makes you wonder what other prangs this driver has had during their time on the road, and whether they've done something like this before?
