From 1961 to 1992, it was used as a United States Navy ballistic missile submarine base. In 1992, the Holy Loch base was deemed unnecessary following the demise of the Soviet Union and subsequently closed.

The bridges over the Forth are very photogenic at any time of day, but at dusk as a sunset starts, the bridge lights up and I think I managed to catch a pretty good shot.

So far we've visited signal rock view point, with no view, Hagrids Hut with no hut and entered the forbidden forest without a problem. Glencoe is not all as it seems.
