Nature with Steve<p>A juvenile Long-tailed Tit, at Upton Warren last month. The youngster already has the trademark long tail; in time the broad band of brown plumage on each side of the face will become a narrower, black stripe running above the eye, and the pink rim around the eye will become less noticeable. Highlights were:</p><p>- Dartford Warbler (Life tick!)<br>- Sandwich Tern<br>- Avocet<br>- Ringed Plover<br>- Marsh Harrier<br>- Merlin<br>- Green Sandpiper *<br>- Greenshank *</p><p>* Not rare birds, but they've always caused problems with my colour blindness.
