Das erste Gesetz der Welt, das rechtsverbindliche Ziele für den Wiederaufbau der biologischen Vielfalt festlegt, ist gestern in der EU in Kraft getreten (Nature Restoration Law):

Die Staaten verpflichten sich, bis zum Jahr 2030 20% der Landflächen und 20% der Seefläche zu renaturieren (entwässerte Moore in Agrarökosystemen werden wiedervernässt + neue Maßnahmen zum Schutz unserer Wälder entstehen).

#Naturschutz ist schlecht für die Wirtschaft? Das sahen die Teilnehmer der „Nationalen Jahreskonferenz für Biodiversität in der Wirtschaft“ ganz anders. Und dann wurde auch noch das #NatureRestorationLaw beschlossen. Mein Lagebericht heute im Wissenschaftsteil der FAZ (Abo).

An important day – ministers of the European Parliament approved #NatureRestorationLaw. As usual, Poland voted against it, along with Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, and Sweden. The Austrian minister voted for – and she is now facing serious troubles at home for her brave move. Maybe there's still a chance for our disappearing #wetlands.

Man kann uns Bauern nicht par ordre du mufti vorschreiben, wie wir zu wirtschaften haben. Das löst Widerstände aus. Wer glaubt, mit Ordnungsrecht der Natur zu helfen, erreicht das Gegenteil.
