After the Bull, here’s a different kind of power.
The Fearless Girl. She was first placed facing the Charging Bull back in March 2017, right before International Women’s Day, as a bold reminder of the strength and resilience of women in leadership.
Now she stands in front of the NY Stock Exchange.

Still calm.
Still standing tall.
Still making her point.
Still so necessary today.

Still thinking about this essay on "blood and learning how to bleed" in the context of politics, organising, and change, and as I was writing some notes about it, I just realised how menstruation is so overlooked in political analysis, though in the moment you look at the politics or the effect of politics on the *bleeding that keeps the species alive* suddenly a lot of 'complex situations' become so much easier to understand.

Complex systems make decisions without each component being fully conscious of the process. We must learn to operate the same way. [...]Start where you are. Learn to bleed with purpose. The insanity of today becomes tomorrow's law." https://open.substack.com/pub/reincantamentox/p/drop-36-do-you-know-how-to-bleed 1/ #Politics #organising #change
Alright, so I've set the modest goal of finishing at least one book every month this year. It ain't much, but it does ensure that even in the months where motivation is hard to come by I'll crawl to the finish line of that one. So, these past four weeks I've had a lot of time to read due to a knee injury keeping my mostly locked up at home.

Just finished, in two days, "Antifascism Against Machismo". It's three essays about, well, the title kind of speaks for itself. It's good stuff, and if you're like me (socialized as) a dude the essays probably go into a couple things that we've not considered enough in our approach to antifascism. If nothing else it's short, easy to read and it won't cost you a lot of time.

As a last note, I'm very open to more books and essays on the intersection of antifascism and feminism so if you've got any suggestions I'm happy to find out.
