He was a master of dialectical role prose, in which the meaning of each sentence is reversed several times. Anyone who cannot see this is prone to misinterpretation, as recent discussions in Germany have shown. Er war ein Meister der dialektischen Rollenprosa, bei der in jedem Satz dessen Bedeutung mehrfach umgewälzt wird. Wer das nicht sehen kann ist anfällig für Fehlinterpretationen, wie jüngere Diskussionen zeigen. Ingo Schramm<p>I became aware of Malabou quite late. On the surface, "Before Tomorrow" is a critique of speculative realism, but at its core it is a masterful deconstruction of Kant. With their overcoming of Kant, the new realists are running into open doors, because the Kant of teleological judgement has long since overcome itself, according to Malabou's rereading. Ingo Schramm<p>Auf Malabou bin ich erst recht spät aufmerksam geworden. „Before Tomorrow“ ist vordergründig eine Kritik des spekulativen Realismus, im Kern jedoch eine meisterhafte Dekonstruktion von Kant. Die neuen Realisten rennen mit ihrer Überwindung von Kant offene Türen ein, denn der Kant der teleologischen Urteilskraft hat sich in der Lektüre Malabous schon längst selbst überwunden. Ingo Schramm<p>The philosophical problem of the Thou inevitably led me from Günther to Lévinas. As with negativity in Adorno's dialectic, I found the problem treated more validly here than in Günther's logical approach. As I know today, it is the ethical perspective that makes the decisive difference for both Adorno and Lévinas. For Lévinas, ethics is prima philosophia. Wie schon Negativität in Adornos Dialektik, fand ich das Problem hier gültiger behandelt als in Günthers logischem Ansatz. Wie ich heute weiß, macht bei beiden - Adorno und Lévinas - die ethische Perspektive den entscheidenden Unterschied. Für Lévinas ist Ethik prima philosophia. Ingo Schramm<p>Reading Proust's Recherche turned out to be a life's work for me. I read the first volume as a late teenager, but I still haven't finished the whole text yet. I return to the work again and again and don't read it chronologically. I practically live with the book. Somehow that fits in with the text. The aesthetic quality becomes more and more apparent to me as I get older. Ingo Schramm<p>Das Lesen von Prousts Recherche stellte sich für mich als Lebensaufgabe heraus. Den ersten Band hab ich als später Teenager gelesen, ganz durch bin ich bis heute nicht. Immer wieder komme ich zu dem Werk zurück, lese es auch nicht chronologisch. Ich lebe quasi mit dem Buch. Irgendwie passt das ja auch zum Text. Die ästhetische Qualität erschließt sich mir dabei mit dem Älterwerden immer mehr.
