In 2021 #Russia gathered troops at the border to #Ukraine & told "the west" thats its going to invade that country if a new "comprehensive security architecture" in #Europe isn't negotiated. That in itself is of course already #blackmail but moreover its initial demands where so over the top, that it would have required years of #negotiation to even get to a level of understanding a common #reality.
Anyway the #USA would have none of it, and don't even start talks.
